• Our standard first grade panels are either 2.5m or 3.5m long and 1.7m high. We can also manufacture panels to custom sizes.

  • Our panels are priced complete with our low noise cleating system (joining system), 16mm hot dipped gal joining pins, galvanised post caps, galvanised foot plates and 400mm long-12mm round ground pegs.

  • We have three different panel material size options:

    • 50 x 50 x 1.6mm SHS

    • 74 x 40 x 1.6mm Oval Rail

    • 115 x 42 x 2.0mm Oval Rail

  • We also offer a cattle yard panel post upgrade. Our standard panel posts are manufactured with gal material that is 1.6mm thick. We offer an upgrade to 2.5mm thick gal material, as this is the part of the cattle yard panel that is sitting on the ground. We have priced this upgrade at a cost of the material only. All of our other components (gate frames etc) come standard with a minimum of 2.5mm thick gal material.

Cattle Panels

  • Our unique joining system has a “U” shaped zinc plated cleat with 19mm round holes to fit a tapered 16mm hot dipped gal pin. This system is the same at both the top and bottom of each end of a panel or gate frame.

  • Low noise with no sharp edges or protruding parts.

Can be stepped to accommodate unlevel sites.

Gates

M & M Stockyards cattle yard gates are all manufactured from first grade Australian Tube Mill material. This material has the highest galvanised coating for its type on the Australian market.

We manufacture a wide range of different gates, hinges and catch systems. The type of gate needed in each area of the yard will vary.

All of our gates posts are made from 50 x 50 x 2.5mm high tensile galvanised SHS.

Our standard gates are 2.5m long with a 2.2m frame constructed of 50 x 50 x 2.5mm galvanised SHS. Our 3m long single gates and 4m long double gates are manufactured with a heavy 65 x 65 x 2.5mm galvanised SHS frame for added strength.

  • Opening in 90 degrees in either direction.

  • Opening in 180 degrees in one direction and hits on the frame.

  • Opening 180 degrees in one direction with a heavy duty frame and a spring slam catch with either through post or standard catch depending on the position of the gate in the yards.

  • Opening 180 degrees in either direction.

  • Used in the drafting pound - opening to 180 degrees in either directions, or in the locked positions, the gate hits up against the frame on either side for drafting purposes.

  • Frame height is 2.7m - high enough to enable you to ride a horse through it.

Chain Catches

Our chain catch system is manufactured in heavy duty 14mm round bar with a strong unique spacer system so the chain is secure but can be released easily. We use this system on the majority of our gates because it is fast, and it has no protruding parts, unlike a bolt system.

With this system you don’t need to line up a bolt and hole to catch the gate. If needed, the gate can be secured with the chain even if it is not quite shut.

Slam Catch Systems

We also manufacture gates with two types of slam catch systems. These gates can be used in the force yard section. We manufacture these gates in a heavy duty frame of 65 x 65 x 2.5mm galvanised SHS to ensure the gate frame has no movement and the catch is secure every time.

Drafting Pound Double Hinge Lock Up Gates & Frames

The size of our drafting pound is dependent on the size of the whole yard system, usually being 7 or 8 sections. The unique locking mechanism on our double hinge lock up gates converts the gate into a multi-directional gate. This is a very simple mechanism that takes only seconds to change the direction of your drafting gate. These gates are included in the price of all our designs that feature a drafting pound.

See the diagram below of the unique locking mechanism and how the gate direction can be changed.

You can also see these gates in action in the demonstration video below:

  • Our slide gates are of a heavy duty construction. They are fully reversible and have a quiet nylon roller action.

They come complete with a solid bottom slide and have locking latches on both sides.

For safety purposes, the gates have a cable pull cord to close them from the outside, so the operator does not have to reach through the frame in order to close the gate.

  • Frame: 1660mm wide and 2200mm high constructed in 50×50×2.5mm gal SHS.

Gate: 850mm wide and consists of 5 - 115x42x2mm oval rails.

Force Yard Reduction Gate Upgrade

We offer the option to upgrade the gate in the force yard. This gate section is manufactured in heavy-duty frame. The gate features a spring slam catch that securely locks into two distinct positions, effectively reducing the size of the force yard as needed. This versatile gate can be effectively utilized in both two-section or three-section force yards.

Drafting Gates & Modules

Drafting gates are essential components in stockyards, designed to facilitate the efficient handling and separation of livestock. These gates enable stock handlers to direct animals into specific pens or areas with minimal stress and disruption. With proper use, drafting gates can significantly enhance operational efficiency, contributing to the overall effectiveness of livestock management in stockyards.

  • The Forward Operation Manual Drafter has been manufactured to draft cattle quickly and efficiently without the operator leaving the crush to select the direction of the animal.

The drafting gates are controlled by a remote handle that extends to the operational position of the crush. This allows the operator to remain at the head of the crush whilst opening the gate. The selected gate automatically returns with the release of the handle.

Two access gates are positioned forward of the drafting gates to provide an unimpeded workspace at the head of the animal.

  • We offer our customers the option to include either a 3-way or 4-way drafting section at the front of the crush in some of our yard designs.

These sections comprise of either 2 or 3 connected gates, connected overhead. The gate hinges have tension adjustments to tighten the hinge in order to hold the gate in the desired position. The tension adjustment can be easily loosened or tightened when needed. The gates are hinged on a heavy duty permanent frame and come complete with a heavy-duty drop bolt.

Each gate has a section of poly belting that will swing past the head of the animal in the crush.

Race Systems

We offer four different race types, each designed with the option of incorporating convenient walkways for enhanced accessibility and safety.

We also offer the practical option of adding an additional slide gate in the race, strategically positioned one section back from the crush area. This design feature is intended to create a waiting bay for the next animal to enter the crush, enhancing the overall flow of handling operations.

Calf Race Option

A calf race can be incorporated into any of our yard designs, tailored to meet the unique needs of each customer. Our standard calf races feature a waiting bay section, enabling the safe containment of a single calf prior to entering the cradle. We also manufacture calf race man gate panels.
