M & M Stockyards manufacture quality permanent, yet, portable cattle yards. Our cattle yards are designed in such a way that when erected and pinned to the ground they are more like a permanent set of yards, rather than a portable cattle yard system. This is due to the circular design and unique pinning system.

Our cattle yard system can be easily modified, relocated or sold at a later stage.

Our Product

M & M Stockyards prime stockyard product is all first grade material from the Australian Tube Mills. This material is galvanized on both the inside and the outside of the material and has the highest galvanized coating for this type of steel on the Australian market.

We use three different size materials for the rails in our cattle yard panels and gates.

50 x 50 x 1.6mm gal square rail (SHS)
75 x 40 x 1.6mm gal oval rail
115 x 42 x 2.0mm gal oval rail

Our Cattle Yard Panels

Our standard cattle yard panels are either 2.5m or 3.5m long and 1.7m high.

We use three types of panel rail material - 50 x 50 x 1.6mm gal SHS (square hollow section), 75 x 40 x 1.6mm gal oval rail or 115 x 42 x 2mm gal oval rail. Both the 50 x 50 and the 75 x 40 cattle yard panels have 6 rails per panel and the 115 x 42 cattle yard panel has 5 rails.

M & M Stockyards can also manufacture cattle yard panels to custom designs and sizes.

M & M Stockyards cattle yard panels are priced complete with our low noise cleating system, our unique joining pins, galvanized post caps, galvanized foot plates, 400mm long - 12mm round foot pins. All inclusive cattle yard panel pricing!

We also offer a cattle yard panel post upgrade. Our standard panel posts are manufactured with gal material that is 1.6mm thick, we offer an upgrade to 2.5mm thick gal material, as this is the part of the cattle yard panel that is sitting on the ground. We have priced this upgrade at a cost of the material only. All of our other components (gate frames etc) come standard with a minimum of 2.5mm thick gal material.

Cattle Yard Panel Joining / Pinning System

M & M Stockyards have recently introduced a new feature to our pinning system that makes setting up the yard components more streamlined. Our zinc plated pinning system consists of 2 "u" shaped cleats that are connected with a unique tapered end solid pin. This system is the same at both the top and the bottom of each end on all our components.

Gates

M & M Stockyards manufactures many different styles of gates, with various hinges and catches.

Double Hinge Gates and Frames

This gate is our most popular type of gate. It has a unique hinging system that allows the gate to swing freely through the frame in both directions, practically 360 degrees. This type of hinging system also allows the gate to lay flush on the panel it is connected to, out of the way of stock and handlers.

Single Hinge Gates and Frames

Our single hinge gates and frames will open 90 degrees in both directions or the gate can be manufactured to hit up on the frame and swing one direction 180 degrees.

Chain Catch

In our chain catch system we use 14mm round bar with a reinforced spacer system so the chain is secure but can be easily released. We use this catch on the majority of our gates because it is fast and it has no protruding parts like a bolt system can have. Also, a gate with a chain catch can be secured even if it is not quite shut.

Single Hinge Gates with Spring Slam Catches

This gate is manufactured in a heavy duty frame that has corner bracing to ensure the slam catch is supported. We have two different styles of slam catch gates. The positioning of the gate within a yard, will dictate which gate is suitable.

Slide Gates

This fully reversible gate is built using heavy duty materials with 115 x 42 rails in the gate. The gate has a pull shut mechanism so you do not have to reach through the frame to shut the gate.

Double Hinge Lock Up Gates

Our double hinge lock up gates are included in all our designs with a drafting pound. This gate will swing through the frame or the operator can engage our unique locking mechanism and convert the gate to hit up on either side of the frame. This gate is a very handy gate to have in a drafting situation.

3 or 4 Way Drafting Gates

These gates can be included in the race section and are either 2 or 3 gates connected overhead. The gate hinges have tension adjustments to tighten the hinge to hold the gate in the desired position. The gates are hinged on a heavy-duty frame and come complete with two heavy-duty drop bolts. Each gate has a section of poly belting that will swing past the head of the beast in the crush.

Forward Operation Manual Drafter

The Forward Operation Manual Drafter has been manufactured to draft cattle quickly and efficiently without the operator leaving the crush to select the direction of the animal.
The drafting gates are controlled by a remote handle that extends to the operational position of the crush. This allows the operator to remain at the crush whilst opening the required gate. The selected gate automatically returns with the release of the handle.
Two access gates are positioned forward of the drafting gates to provide an unimpeded workspace at the head of the animal.

Many of our cattle yard designs can incorporate a 3 or 4 way drafting section.

Force Yard Reduction Gates

This gate section is manufactured in a heavy duty frame. The gate has a spring slam catch that locks in two positions to reduce the size of the force yard.

Cattle Crushes

Our stockyard systems can incorporate the majority of cattle crushes from any national supplier.

Weighing Systems

Our cattle yard designs can incorporate any stockyard weighing system. We are a national agent for Gallagher Weighing Systems supplied by Gallagher Australia.

Delivery and Installation

M & M Stockyards can deliver and install your new cattle yard system. This is done by one of our fully trained staff members, with your assistance. We have our own truck and trailer fitted with a crane to make unloading on-site no problem.
